The Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries.
The Council on Foreign Relations has assembled a group of fellows second to none in scholarship and productivity. Their publications shape the thinking of policymakers at the highest levels of government and industry, and their participation in Council activities enriches the experience for members.

The Corporate Program serves an international membership comprised of leading global corporations. In addition to the distinct and diverse resources available to Corporate members in the form of CFR.org, publications, and research by in-house experts, CFR regularly hosts high-profile and marquee speakers from around the world. Recent visiting leaders include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson, and the late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The annual two-day Corporate Conference, held at the Council's New York headquarters, addresses the most pressing international business concerns. We also offer Corporate Program roundtable series on current global priorities, including China and India, as well as foreign investment and climate change. The popular World Economic Update series provides a quarterly review of geoeconomic trends and concerns. The Corporate Program works closely with the Council's Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies, which takes an interdisciplinary approach to the links among economics, foreign policy, and national security.

Corporate members also have the opportunity to be directly involved in the work of the fellows. For example, homeland security authority Stephen Flynn conducts a working group with CFR Corporate members to focus on the business community's role in meeting the homeland security challenge.
