Bibi’s Choice: How Israel Should Handle Pressure for a Palestinian State

After my recent visit to Israel and the West Bank, I’ve written an account of the current situation as I see it. It is published in the new issue of The Weekly Standard.

At bottom, the article suggests that Israel should act rather than wait fearfully for possible Palestinian Authority, Quartet, or United Nations actions. If Israelis believe that separation from the Palestinian population of the West Bank is both inevitable and beneficial, they should begin that process. Israelis and Palestinians may never live together in peace, but they can live apart in peace.
