On her blog yesterday, CFR senior fellow Shannon O’Neil analyzed the changing dynamics of some of Latin America’s leading economies by examining the components of their exports over time. As she explains about Mexico:

Out of Latin America’s biggest economies, Mexico has transformed the most. In the 1980s the manufacturing sector comprised just 10 percent of total exports; today it is over 75 percent.
