The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) has launched an Election 2024 initiative to explore the role of the United States in the world, how international affairs issues affect voters, and what is at stake as voters make their choices in November.
As part of this endeavor, CFR will engage with constituencies in four battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. This effort will be anchored by in-person public forums co-hosted by local colleges and universities featuring conversations with top experts on international issues and how those issues influence the lives of Americans in often unexpected ways.

As a trusted source of independent, nonpartisan analysis with wide-ranging foreign policy expertise, CFR is uniquely positioned to elevate public discussion of foreign policy and the role of the United States in the world,” said CFR President Michael Froman. “We are pleased to partner with colleges and universities in four pivotal states to explore some of the key issues at stake in our upcoming election.”
Alongside the forums, CFR will connect with civic and business leaders, journalists, students, educators, and the broader public in each city to address the foreign policy questions that matter most to their communities, utilizing the full scope of CFR resources, including CFR experts, digital content, educational materials, and more.
