The Pieter A. Fisher Program in International Relations
The Pieter A. Fisher Program in International Relations was established in 1994. The program supports the work of CFR’s David Rockefeller Studies Program.
Pieter A. Fisher (1931–92)
Pieter A. Fisher was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations for sixteen years and a partner in the Wall Street firm of Goldman Sachs. Fisher’s business interests over the years also included the Ramco Oil and Gas Company of Oklahoma City, in which he was a partner. He and his wife also owned a vineyard in Rutherford, California, and built a winery, Clos du Montagne, on the property.
Fisher was born in Baltimore and grew up there. He graduated in 1953 from Princeton and received a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1957. After working as an executive in advertising agencies, Fisher joined Goldman Sachs in 1964. He became a general partner in 1975 and a limited partner in 1986.
